What people say Help

  • I recently organized a function and hired the band "A Girl Called Sue". The communication prior to the event was very good, leaving me confident about their arrival. As promised they all arrived in plenty of time to set up before our meal and I was able make final arrangements about how the timing of the evening was to progress. The bands performance was first class and they had the people up dancing from the start, which I know is normally very difficult but they did it and kept people involved and dancing all night. I have nothing but praise for this band especially as they catered for all kinds of musical tastes.

  • A Girl Called Sue played at my 40th birthday party. They were fantastic, virtually everyone who thanked me for my party said the band were awesome. They really made my party, they played all the tracks I had requested and brought a great energy with them. I searched the internet for many bands, they sounded the best and they didn't disappoint live. They were also incredibly polite off stage when dealing with the business part of the night. I highly recommend hiring them for all your functions, you will be guaranteed a good night. I was satisfied with the level of service the agency provided.

  • We just want to say a big thank you to 'A Girl Called Sue' for their performance at our wedding on the 27th August. Everything about our day was fabulous and they added to the whole event. The jazz set went down very well and all our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the whole set finding just the right balance of tunes to get people up dancing. Our only regret is that we didn't seem to get enough time to just listen to the music. We would love to hear the band play again and would be keen to hear if they are playing anywhere publicly. Thanks again.

  • Amie and I wanted to give some feedback on “A Girl Called Sue” who played at our wedding on the 20th August – perhaps you can put this on their page or something as a recommendation? We booked “ A Girl Called Sue” for our wedding on the 20th August in mid-Wales, primarily off the back of the reviews on this site and the sample tracks we listened to online. Looking back on the day, we are absolutely delighted with our decision and couldn’t have wished for a more professional band - they sounded fantastic and really got people up dancing with a wide variety of music to suite everyone. The Jazz set went down a treat in the late afternoon and we had so many comments from our guests on the quality of the band. Thank you so much for making such a contribution to our day and for being so friendly and easy to deal with in the run up. Jonny & Amie (San Francisco via Brecon).

  • A Girl Called Sue were brilliant and excellent entertainment for our wedding. They were very well organised and polite and went to great lengths to learn a first dance song for us which they performed perfectly. I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone for a wedding or special event. I was also very pleased with Function Central’s role in liaising with the band. We obviously made a few changes along the way and you always kept me informed the details. All in all we were very happy and it made our wedding very special so thank you!

  • I wanted to give you some feedback on this band who played at my daughter’s wedding on Saturday. They were extremely good and I would book them again without hesitation should the need arise. The Jazz set played at the beginning of the meal was exactly what I had wanted; unobtrusive and light background music which we all enjoyed. The subsequent dance music sets kept everyone on the dance floor from beginning to end. In addition their administration and helpfulness throughout in the planning and preparation of the music my daughter wanted was absolutely first class. They were thoughtful enough to call me early on the day of the wedding to confirm arrangements, arrived on time and set up without fuss. All my guests commented most favourably on the music. All-in-all they helped make the day a memorable one and I thank them for it.

  • We had a superb evening on Monday and the band were fantastic. They went down really well with everyone and I particularly enjoyed the jazz set!

    Nico, Wedding, Berkshire, June 2011
  • What an excellent band! Our guests kept coming up to us all evening, saying how good you are!

  • Thank you for such a fantastic performance on Saturday night, we were absolutely delighted. The jazz was pitched perfectly, the ‘disco’ was just the right combination and lead singer had such a fantastic strong voice – pitch perfect and the bands ability to be flexible including letting one of our friends sing was one of the aspects that completely made the reception.

    Carl, Wedding, Farnham, June 2011
  • Absolutely awesome band, talented and very friendly. Our overall wedding was amazing and it was a sign of a good band that so many people were on the dance floor. I had a lot of people ask me on the wedding day where I sourced the band from.

  • We hired A Girl Called Sue 7-piece band for our wedding and I can honestly say, that having a live band with a brass section was the best decision we made regarding the evening reception. Function Central were quick and efficient in the booking process and ensured that all of the details that we needed to supply were laid out from the very start and the booking process was so easy. The band were so pleasant to deal with both before the wedding and on the day, ensuring that we had everything we wanted in terms of music choices and timings. On the night, the band were punctual and so friendly and from the first note that they played, they set the atmosphere perfectly. I can honestly say that I have never seen so many of my friends and family on the dance floor for so long - and many I know never dance at any function! This is testament to the band who kept the evening swinging along at just the right pace. We have had so many comments from our guests on what an excellent band A Girl Called Sue were and so, so pleased with them for providing a wonderful evening to remember. Thank you so much to the band and we would certainly recommend them to anyone who wants a party or an event to remember.

  • I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the amazing job you and your band did at our wedding. I had an amazing time and everyone said how brilliant the band were. I'm really sorry you had such a wait and that things over ran, I would have much preferred to be dancing the night away rather than eating and listening to speeches!

  • We hired the band for my wife's 40th birthday party. They were absolutely fantastic, they arrived when they said they would, they were really friendly and sounded amazing. They really got the party going, so a big thank you. I can't wait to be able to book them again.

  • We thought they were absolutely fantastic and were impressed with the high level of musicianship. I am a musician myself and play the violin (often at weddings!), so music was a very important part of the day for me and I was delighted with the band. We have great memories of dancing the night away!

    Charlotte, Wedding, July 2010
  • We all thought you and your band were amazing. You were all so professional, arriving early in time for an easy set up & technical rehearsal which really put our minds at rest and then being so accommodating throughout. The whole party were thoroughly enjoying your music & we didn’t want you to go! We will definitely get you back as you left nothing for us to worry about & then were absolutely fabulous – Thank you so much!

  • A Girl Called Sue were a great success for my 30th Birthday. The guests loved them and they sound amazing, full of energy and a brilliant set list. I would not hesitate in booking them again as they got everyone dancing and completely made the party! We had the 5 piece and delighted with them, you must book these guys now!

Function Central were great to deal with. Friendly, efficient and I would recommend to anyone. I will definitely be using them the next time I need a band.

  • We also booked ‘A Girl Called Sue’ through you, they too were completely professional and so very accommodating that they made the party really special. The band were friendly, really flexible with their remit and just so lovely to get along with – we were delighted! I will definitely keep coming back to you – it’s been really successful so far! Thank you.
