2-3 piece acoustic covers band from Surrey playing chilled out 60s-00s rock, soul and pop classics, from Stevie Wonder to NeYo. Duo also available.

Unique female-fronted 2 or 3-piece band The Blue Notes interpret the classic covers band repertoire in a new and exciting way - with acoustic guitar, double bass and three vocals - and have been charming audiences with their originality at weddings, bars, restaurants and functions since 2009.

The band boast a singer who has starred in musicals such as Grease and Sex Drugs Rick’n’Noel, and worked with writers for Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Ladyhawk, Kylie Minogue, Spiller and DJ Joey Negro. She is currently recording an album with a new girl band, and fronting a well-known electro-house band at shows around the world.

The band’s guitarist started out as a rocker, but cooled down - he is now a jazz expert, holding a first-class honours degree in music performance, and has released a jazz album. Bass player Sam’s creative approach gives the band the basis for its unique sound; he is the baby of the group, and is still studying at music college, though he always finds time for gigs at venues from the Dorchester Hotel to Sadler’s Wells.

What people say Help

  • Our wedding day was more than a success! Everything went so smoothly - with thanks to The Blue Notes. The Blue Notes were very professional, came in on time, set up very quietly during our reception meal. They played beautifully and without a break as we were running late. They were very flexible to the time of the event and made us feel less stressed.

Once more thank you very much for the great service we have received from you and from The Blue Notes, we would happily recommend you to friends and family.

  • I would be extremely happy to recommend Blue Notes to anybody. They were perfect as a duo for what we wanted, which was entertainment that created a chilled out classy vibe post wedding breakfast, pre evening entertainment. Our guests commented on how great they were, and what a nice idea it was to have live entertainment at that time of the day. They were as professional as they were talented, and I thank them sincerely.

  • Sorry for taking so long to reply. I actually meant to email ages ago anyway to say thank you. The band were absolutely brilliant on the night, better than we'd even expected! Everyone commented on how good they were and that it was like having Radio 1's 'live lounge' there. They were so lovely too, really friendly but professional.

  • We booked the Blue Notes Trio for a party to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday, our son’s 21st and both of our sons’ graduations, so lots to celebrate. The evening went very well and the Blue Notes Trio definitely made the party extra special. They were professional but relaxed which made it very easy to welcome them into our home. Their style of music went down very well with everyone, young and a bit older! They were happy to do any requests that we might have and contacted us in advance to ask. I would definitely recommend the Blue Notes Trio. Function Central were very helpful and easy to deal with. I thought the website was easy to use and especially liked the fact that you can listen to the bands. The whole process went very smoothly from booking to party. Thank you very much.

  • The Blue Notes duo played at our IKEA Croydon store tonight. Just wanted to let you know that they were fantastic and we are all extremely happy with their performance, their choice of songs and their characters. We will definitely consider calling on them again in the future when the opportunity arises. 10 out of 10! Many thanks.

  • The Blue Notes were excellent. A highly professional act, with a varied repertoire combined with musical perfection made for a perfect accompaniment to the evening. Playing for our Warrant Officers Dinner night was a tough audience to say the least but I had nothing but excellent feedback, I look forward to booking them again, thanks guys.
