Accomplished Leicestershire based string quartet with years of experience playing civil weddings, church weddings, receptions, wedding breakfasts, civil partnerships, parties and corporate events.

The Harmonia String Quartet is an outstanding string quartet and trio whose members have trained at either The Royal Academy of Music in London, or one of the other prestigious Music Colleges, and have a wide range of experience in many different areas of the music profession. These include professional orchestral playing with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, The Halle Orchestra, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The English String Orchestra and The English Symphony Orchestra as well as enjoying the smaller medium of chamber music.

Together they have played for hundreds of weddings, functions and events at venues throughout Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire & Derbyshire, including: Belvoir Castle, Bosworth Hall Hotel, Cranford Hall, Hambleton Hall Hotel, Normanton Park Hotel, Oakham Castle, RAF Waddington and Whittlebury Park.

The quartet specialise in weddings, and can play for the ceremony, the drinks reception, and the wedding breakfast. For the pre-ceremony music it is usually best to leave the choice to the quartet, so that they can judge the timings, but you may choose a piece if you wish. The quartet suggest that the entrance music is bright, cheerful and lively whilst the pieces during the signing of the register be of a quieter nature if desired. Exit music can be lively and longer in length. This is often a good idea so that the piece can be played while all the guests leave the room. For the pre-Ceremony music it is usually best to leave the choice to the quartet, so that they can judge the timings, but you may choose a piece if you wish.

The Harmonia String Quartet offer two line-ups:

  • The String Quartet: always a popular choice, consists of 2 violins, viola and cello.
  • The String Trio: violin, viola and cello. This is a slightly quieter sound than the quartet as there is one player fewer. People sometimes choose this option if they are tight on space.
