From 60s soul and rock & roll to the very latest chart music, Limelight are a highly skilled and professional Berkshire-based band who can appeal to a wide mixture of generations.

Berkshire 4-piece Limelight’s bold and beautiful singer has an exceptional voice to match her exceptional band, whose diverse and energetic set has kept them busy at parties, weddings and clubs for six years. Their repertoire stretches from chilled-out Joss Stone soul to full-on Guns N’Roses rock via chart pop, and even takes in some Latin classics. The band all sing backing vocals, creating an exciting and expansive sound.

Limelight’s vocalist, who is also featured on acoustic guitar, made the last 75 for Pop Idol in 2003, has appeared on MTV and VH1, and has been a session singer for years. Guitarist John has supported many big names at the Marquee, the Roundhouse and Ronnie Scotts, and has also worked as a guitar coach for TV dramas. Drummer Phil’s five-album record deal led to many headlining gigs at top venues around London. Bass player Alan has played with Duran Duran as well as 80s chart-toppers The Blow Monkeys, and toured Japan. Together they have performed for the Army, played at a student event at Reading University, appeared live on cable TV and entertained corporate clients such as Shepperton Studios, Walkabout, Kenny Jones's Polo Club and Fujitsu, even soundtracking an Eastender’s wedding anniversary!

  • When I picked you about a year ago I had no idea what I was getting, I just liked the clips I heard on your website and saw you did a range of music and thought that would be ok. I would like to say that we were thrilled with what you did on the evening, although my husband and I didn't personally listen to much (you know how weddings are, we had to talk to distant relatives and people our parents invited etc), but several people have commented on how good you were and certainly what we did here was excellent. Many things went wrong on the wedding with suppliers not doing as promised but you were faultless to the end and we wanted to say thanks for making the evening enjoyable. I hope your dinners were OK too, we found the serving staff to be a bit rude, I hope they were not too unkind to you. All the best with future events you have. If we ever need to hire a band again or know someone else who needs one we will think of you.

  • Dear John, thank you for the superb gig at the Golf Club on Saturday 28th March. The feedback from everyone is all about 'the band' and how good you are.
