Lively 4-piece band based in Lancashire, equally comfortable playing student events as they are weddings, drawing on a varied repertoire of 60s-00s floor-fillers.

Long-time student favourites Shotgun have been playing at parties, weddings, corporate events and clubs around the UK since 2003, and recently played their thousandth gig together. As well as standard selections from their all-encompassing repertoire of hits by artists such as The Beatles and Stevie Wonder, they offer a specialised rock set (with head-banging classics by artists such as Led Zeppelin and AC/DC) and a specialised indie set (featuring bands like The Killers and Oasis).

The band are true experts, comprising a singer who has drawn capacity crowds at famous venues around Europe; a creative guitarist, whose compositions you will recognise from adverts; a bass player who has just founded a school of excellence for his many students; and a drummer who is devoted to his teaching job at a national music school, but still enjoys a wide variety of live and studio session work.

What people say Help

  • Just had to email to say how great "Shotgun" were. It was my wife's & my joint 40th Birthday party. The band were very professional and the music was absolutely fantastic - what a playlist! Every guest has commented on how great they were, and easily got everyone dancing. Highly recommended for any event.

  • We can’t praise Shotgun enough for the fantastic set they played at our wedding. They were professional and able to accommodate our tight schedule. Shotgun played a brilliant selection of songs that filled the dance floor all evening. Everyone commented on how good they were and what a great time they had dancing the night away. The only negative was our sore feet the following day from dancing so much! We would definitely recommend Shotgun to anyone looking for a band to play their wedding or party. I would definitely book again with Function Central. Everything was straightforward, the level of service excellent with speedy replies to any query no matter how small.

  • Shotgun were excellent, thoroughly professional had an excellent set list to choose from, covering a wide range of styles and genres. They had something for everyone to dance to, and to sing along to. I would recommend them to anyone who needed live music for a party or function.

Marcus, 40th Birthday Party, Sheffield, January 2011
  • The band played last night at my 50th birthday bash to 130 people. Almost all my guests said good night to me saying how brilliant the band had been without any invitation to comment on my part. The choice of music and standard of the performance were excellent. I spend a small fortune each year going to see live music and I was delighted with the way the way the band selected the playlist, their interaction with the guests, and their professional but relaxed attitude. I would gladly recommend them to anyone wanting live music for a similar function, and several friends have already asked how we found them. Thank you for your assistance and please thank the band yet again from us. These guys are what live party music should be all about.

Mike and Kirsten, 50th Birthday Party, October 2010
  • I would like to say that Shotgun was absolutely brilliant. Our event tickets sold out and the band was very much well-liked by the guests. The band was also very flexible in catering to the needs of our event. The lead singer was good and the band managed to get everyone dancing. The band has been instrumenental in giving us a good start for our association in the new academic year. I would certainly consider hiring the band again for our future events! Well done!

  • Shotgun were fantastic. They were so charismatic, providing visual as well as audio entertainment. They interacted with guests perfectly and played a great selection of music that had everyone dancing to the end of the night. I would highly recommend them for any occasion.

  • What a party! Shotgun read our guests perfectly and got everyone completely rocking! We were so happy with the evening they were exactly what we were after. A big THANK YOU to you and the band for making the evening of our wedding something to remember.

David Abraham, Wedding, Lancashire, August 2009
  • Shotgun just made our wedding evening - I can't thank you all enough. Our friends and family were so impressed with them that everyone commented on the performance they had given. A huge thanks for making it an amazing wedding party. I need to find a reason to book them again sometime soon!

Mrs J Dawson, Wedding, Chester, July 2009
  • Shotgun were recommended to our firm by some colleges that had booked them previously for a summer ball. They were very professional and made every effort to work around our needs on the day. So many guests commented on how good they were. Thanks!

Scottish Power, Corporate Event, Cheshire, February 2009
  • Thank you very much. The band turned up and set up as agreed. They were fantastic, everyone was impressed and fully enjoyed them. My legs are aching from dancing too much! I would recommend them to anyone, a few of the guests and Hotel staff asked about them.

    Alex, Wedding, Leicestershire, December 2008
  • I really enjoyed my 21st on 2nd July and the band were brilliant. Everyone commented on how good they were and how they got the party going, I was impressed at their professionalism and how they gauged the mood of the event and responded accordingly. Several people asked me how I found them and I have passed the website details on so I'm sure there will be some repeat business.
