The Beatniks are an animated sixties tribute band who cover all the quintessential English bands from the era, such as the Kinks, the Small Faces, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. They are professional and reliable, but relaxed and cool enough to embody the spirit of the 60s. They can select a stirring set from a total of six hours of summer of love spirit, including any first dance or special request. Their basic line-up is a 3-piece, but now perform mostly as a 4-piece with the addition of lead guitar. They can also provide an acoustic duo option for mellower events.

The Beatniks have played at corporate events, fund-raising events and parties throughout Britain and Europe. Recent highlights include the Cannonball 8000 event in Zagreb, a society wedding in Paris and backing X Factor winner Brenda Edwards at the Grosvenor House Hotel. Singer/guitarist Roland has toured Germany and Denmark with the legendary Tony Sheridan, whom the Beatles used to back in Hamburg in the sixties. When he isn’t looking back to the sixties, he performs his solo act in London, and has toured with his own band The Only Alternative, who were signed to Rough Trade. Guitarist John had chart success in his native Australia before joining various Beatles tribute bands. Drummer Kevin spends his time away from the Beatniks touring with ex-members of the Buzzcocks, and has supported David Gray. Bass player Nick has co-written songs for Martina Topley-Bird and other artists, and toured with the Bootleg Beatles.

  • Roland, I just wanted to drop you a short note to thank you and the rest of the band for the fantastic performance on Saturday night, you guys really did make the evening. I know the conditions in the hall with regard to the temperature were not great but to play hit after hit for most of the evening was superb. I have had so many people comment on what a great time they had, especially being able to dance to such great music, one lady is now looking forward to my 50th!
