The Charleston Stampede play popular hits from roaring 20s. Enjoy this visit to an era of wonderful nonsense, quirky original music and cheerful entertainment. Lets misbehave!

Kidnapped by aliens from the Savoy ballroom in 1929 the Charleston Stampede reappeared on the streets of Manchester in 2007 having aged not one jot, still playing their infectious and quirky 1920's hits.

Love them or laugh at them, you'll have to dance to them! Their affectionate 1920's pastiche delights and delects its way through an era of prohibition, speakeasies and mob violence, when the jitterbug was scandalous, flappers bobbed their hair and raised their skirts and a damn good time was to be had by the reckless and young at heart.

Strike up the band! Everything is hotsy totsy now!

What people say Help

  • As I said on the phone yesterday, we really enjoyed the music you provided for our wedding last weekend. The band was perfect for the venue and we and our guests really enjoyed the music you played. We were a very discerning audience, but the admiration was universal.

  • Yet again words can’t express how much the band meant to both of us. They were the best entertainment and played beautiful music. A few friends actually thought it was a CD until I asked them to turn round and see the double bass etc. They were stars. They interacted well with the guests, my family thought of them very fondly. I have shouted from the roof tops about this band and some friends get married next year therefore I have given them your email address for the same guys we had.

  • We just wanted to write to say thank you for your wonderful performance at our wedding at the Saddleworth Hotel on Sunday 9th March. We had a wonderful day and the music you played really was the icing on the cake. We really enjoyed dancing to your music and our guests commented on how wonderfully you played and how nice it was to be able to talk to friends and relatives they hadn’t seen for a while whilst being entertained by such great music.

  • We wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you for playing at our wedding. The band was fantastic and helped make our evening a spectacular success! We both thought the whole band was very professional and smart, and that your sets were very fitting for the evening reception. With very best wishes etc.

  • A big thank you for such a brilliant night to celebrate our wedding! We thoroughly enjoyed your music and so did all our guests – Everyone complimented you!

  • Thank you for your brilliant performance at our wedding. It was much appreciated and helped to make our day so perfect. Lots of people commented on how much they enjoyed your music and we will have no hesitation to recommend yourselves to others.

  • Just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for the wonderful music you supplied for our wedding day. You provided a perfect end to what had been for us a perfect day. The sound quality was superb and we were thrilled that you were able to us the piano at Augill. I know that Simon and Wendy, the owners of Augill, will be recommending you for future events and we certainly hope that we will run into you again in the future.

  • Just a few words to thank you and the members of the Band for your efforts on Friday at our Civic Ball. … many people have commented about the music and how much they enjoyed it. Thank you once again for making the evening a success.

  • Just a short note to say a big thank you for performing at our wedding and how grateful we are for your enthusiasm, professionalism and reliability. Having chosen a 50’s theme, but nothing too over the top, you pitched it perfectly and added to a perfect day. We loved every minute of your performance – especially Dad! You created a truly memorable atmosphere for our day. We would have no hesitation recommending you to our friends.

  • Thank you for providing us with such excellent entertainment during the evening. All the guests enjoyed your performance greatly and your presence was in large part responsible for such a successful evening. Would you please let me know whether you are available for a similar bash!

  • Thank you very much for helping to make our wedding day and evening so special. Your band really made it and watching you back on our wedding video it is still as good if not better with out the influence of alcohol! I would and will really recommend you to any of my friends that are planning to get married or are having a party. Thank you very much and we hope to be having you play at one of our parties again soon.
