The Graduates are a 4 piece band from the North East, they have been playing together under various guises for the last 4 years and as a result are a very tight knit unit.

Steven and Anthony are both graduates of the Jazz Pop and Commercial degree at The Sage Gateshead, Nick is studying Physiotherapy at Teesside Uni while Richard is too busy gigging with every local jazz musician that he can fit into his busy gigging diary to allow time for study. He is currently part of The Mark Williams Trio and The Zoe Gilby Quintet on who’s latest album he appears, which has featured on Jazz radio stations worldwide. Richard has also played with jazz guitar great Jim Mullen and 5 time BBC jazz musician of the year, saxophonist Alan Barnes.
Members of the band have played at venues such as Newcastle University, St James Park, Durham University, Edinburgh Jazz Club, Dempseys Cardiff, The Sage Gateshead, Stockton International Riverside Festival.
You can expect a very diverse set list that is guaranteed to please with a memorable performance to match. Susan, 50th Birthday, Teeside, January 2011The evening was a great success, with approximately 100 guests ranging from 7 to 80 years, everyone went home with a smile on their face commenting how wonderful the music was. The Graduates adapted their style and volume to suit the mood of the evening allowing dancing and conversation to flow freely. The Graduates were on time, polite and smartly dressed. I would have to hesitation in booking The Graduates for any other occasion that required organisation, good music and a feel good factor.
