Take a trip back in time with this solo medieval musician, a regular performer at Hampton Court Palace and The Tower of London, playing a variety of authentic period instruments.
Ideal for any historically-themed event, The Medieval Stroller has a repertoire spanning from the 13th to the turn of the 20th century. The focus is on older material, with songs and instrumentals drawn mainly from the medieval, Tudor and Stuart periods. The Stroller wears authentic costumes and plays the traditional instruments of each era including the lute, hurdy gurdy, dulcimer, recorder and flute.
For an authentic period performance, The Medieval Stroller will mingle with the crowd just like a wandering minstrel of old. He is an experienced performer and has played at a number of English Heritage and National Trust properties, museums and art galleries all over the UK. He’s played at the Leicester Early Music Festival, the Leeds International Medieval Congress, and the Spanish Institutes in London and Manchester, not to mention numerous weddings, private parties, and historical banquets.
If you’d like to recreate the atmosphere of days gone by, perhaps to capture the mood of a medieval fair or of a Renaissance recital at a country house – or if you simply want a unique and original entertainer for your event – The Medieval Stroller would be an excellent choice.
