4-piece Irish band based in the North West, who play a fantastic and lively range of traditional and contemporary Irish music, as well as Celtic rock and country rock & roll. Also available as a 5-piece with caller.

The Mixers are one of the most vibrant and lively bands on the Irish music scene today.

The band specialise in Ceili's for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, folk festivals, PTA's and corporate events, from very large events to very small gatherings. Playing as a 5-piece ceili band, they use one of three excellent callers, Michael, Francis or Bill, to give your Ceili an Irish, Scottish or English flavour - depending on what you want! The callers are all very experienced and are there to make your event very enjoyable and for you to have fun.

Their ‘caller’ will instruct you in each dance before you do it, ‘call’ the steps and supervise the dance once it starts. Getting the steps absolutely right is neither expected nor demanded, in fact the object is to have FUN and lots of it! Popular dances include: The Big Set Mixer, Bridge of Athlone, The Oxo Reel, La Rouse, The Circassian Circle, Rebecca’s Roundabout, Cottagers Jig, Nottingham Swing, Cumberland Square 8, Strip the Willow, Dashing White Sergeant, The Gay Gordons, Eightsome reel, St Bernards Waltz, Canadian Barn Dance, Pride of Erin Walz.

The band will normally split the evening into periods of 45 mins to 60 mins and will perform a song or a tune in between dances as necessary, to allow you to get your breath back! They are happy to organise the ceili to fit in with your disco, or any other activities you have planned.

What people say Help

  • We booked The Mixers for our entertainment at our wedding in May. They were terrific, the booking was really easy to do online and timings and content were all sorted before the day so everyone knew in advance what the itinerary was. On the day the band were prompt and really friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and all the guests had a fabulous time both trying the dance steps and just sitting and enjoying the great music. I would thoroughly recommend the band to anyone thinking of having live entertainment for a celebration.

  • Just a quick email to once again say thank you for your services at our wedding reception last night. Myself and my wife were delighted and we really had a good night- thank you. Given the somewhat limited space we had to work with I think you and your team managed to fill the floor with a good bunch of enthusiastic participants and it definately helped make our wedding day. Thank you once again and merry Christmas and happy new year to you and the members of the band. Kind regards and festive best wishes, Nigel and Sarah

  • Just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you so much for your services at our Winter Ball, it was really amazing and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Here are a couple of comments from our participants who attended:

Hi Faye, apologies for the delay, but better late than never. Just wanna say thanks for getting everything with the ball organised. We had an awesome night. Not really sure who else organised it and who I need to thank, but I know you were involved so thought would drop you a quick email. If you let me know who else I can pass on my regards as well. Roll on the next one! Cheers, Jake

Hi Faye - Thanks again for the wonderful ball. It was so much fun - really really enjoyed it (although should probably have drunk a little less!) Lots of love, Naomi

  • Everyone I've spoken to thinks you're fantastic and I'd certainly use you again and recommend you to others. Your music, calling and general banter was second to none.

As I said on Saturday, we can be a bit slow at getting started and I think for the novices it was a bit daunting but once up and you're hooked! You managed to get more people on the dance floor on Saturday than anyone else in the last three years put together so well done!

Hope to see you again next year!!

  • Angie & Dave have just got back from their honeymoon and we saw them this weekend.

They had a brilliant wedding and really enjoyed the ceili dancing - we even got a bit of it on video!

They both send their many thanks to you, especially as so many other guests also said how much they enjoyed the whole experiece, particularly as they didn't know they could dance!

We trust that you all had enough to eat and drink on the night and many thanks again.
