Not many bands can match the variety and energy of The Shakedowns. This Midlands-based 4-7 piece have played at hundreds of weddings, functions and parties, and honed their talents performing on cruise ships around the world. As well as all the old party favourites, the band are constantly adding new songs to their repertoire. Classic tracks by The Beatles and Tina Turner rub shoulders with recent hits from Estelle, Katy Perry, The Killers and many more.
The band’s standard line-up is a five-piece with both male and female lead vocals and tight harmony vocals, backed by guitar, keyboards, bass and drums. Saxophone, trumpet and percussion can all be added for an even bigger sound, or for smaller events a four-piece line-up is also available, without female vocals.
Background music is also available in the form of an accomplished solo pianist, playing jazzy swing classics plus rock and pop hits which are perfect for a drinks reception or wedding breakfast. Last but not least, a great value DJ service is also available for non-stop music in all the breaks, drawing on a regularly updated database of more than 15,000 tracks.
The Shakedowns are extremely professional, but also friendly and easy-going. They take pride in their performance, use only the best equipment and are happy to tailor their set list to your requirements. They have a powerful PA system with radio microphones, which are available to use for speeches and announcements at no extra charge.
