The Steel Panthers

Versatile and contemporary 2-4 piece steel pan band playing classic calypso, reggae, motown, pop and more, and featuring some of the top Caribbean musicians in the UK.

The Steel Panthers have a history that goes back to the 1950’s in the UK, having also taken part in every Notting Hill carnival to date. The band has a proven track record for reliability, punctuality and quality of music and are a favorite on the private wedding and party circuit, as well as village festivals, local carnivals and Caribbean and Hawaii festive evenings. Their energetic renditions of popular melodies combined with traditional Caribbean rhythms wins over audiences of all age groups and musical tastes, and they're adaptable for just background music at functions where the guest mingles, or to provide dancing music for an audience.

The Steel Panthers have performed live on TV for Big Brother in 2006, as well as Channel 4's celebrity Come Dine With Me (as Bobby Davro's post-dinner entertainment), as well as BBC London and BBC Radio 4.

The band can be booked as a duo (tenor pan player and a second pan player); a trio (tenor, second and guitar pan players). They can also be extended to a four-piece steel band, five, six or even seven-piece band for a bigger calypso sound, for both outdoor and indoor corporate events. No power is required, making them adaptable to almost any occasion or venue.

The band differ from other steel bands in that they're able to perform aa "pan-around-neck" steel band if required, carrying their instruments around their necks in a “marching band” way, for wedding precessions and for festivals and carnivals.
