Hip West Sussex band Wingfield dish up a modern indie repertoire, including U2, Snow Patrol, The Killers and Razorlight, with a side serving of male-led vocal harmonies. One of the most sought-after wedding and party bands in the South East.

Special offers! 30% off all dates in January and February 2010 and 25% off all weekdays (Mon-Thurs)

Since they won the 'South of England' battle of the bands, Wingfield have been in such high demand that they don’t see much of their native Sussex! One of our hippest function bands, this four-piece specialise in slick and energetic covers of modern indie stompers and classic hits with strong vocal harmonies, selecting from a repertoire that includes Orson, U2, Snow Patrol, the Killers, Razorlight and the Kaiser Chiefs, and is constantly updated. They also offer a DJ to keep your crowd moving while they’re not playing.

They are one of our most experienced bands: manically energetic drummer Lee has been playing since he was six, and regularly appears on TV across the world, as well as in the West End. Singer Paul was only sixteen when he made his first pan-European TV appearance, and has performed as far away as New Zealand and Canada. Offstage, guitarist Darren spends his time teaching a brood of eager guitar students. During the band’s fourteen years together, they have entertained at countless bars, weddings, private parties and corporate events, becoming veterans of the European ski resort circuit. They often play on the main stage at Butlins, supporting stars from Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor, as well as other chart-topping favourites from the last twenty years. Band members have played at every major British festival including Glastonbury and Reading, and have also performed with Joss Stone, Mr Big, Cornershop and Survivor (Eye of the Tiger). The band work exclusively for Function Central.

What people say

  • Wingfield were simply brilliant - us and all of our guests loved them. They played music that had everyone up and dancing and also looked for all the world like they were having as good a time playing as we were having listening and dancing! In particular, Paul's charisma, energy and interaction with the crowd was superb. I would highly recommend them for any type of event. Thank you all, for all your help and should we be in need of a band again in the future, we will be sure to get in touch!

  • We had Wingfield perform at our wedding and we just wanted to say how absolutely amazing they were, we knew a live band would add a little something extra to the reception, but Wingfield added a lot more than we could have hoped for. Every guest we have spoken to has said how brilliant they were, and that was guests of all age groups, we have also had numerous requests for their details from guests keen to book them.

We had what I would consider a fairly small reception but the band, and Paul the lead singer especially, played with the enthusiasm of being in front of a huge crowd. He interacted with the guests so well and created a real party atmosphere it was great to see so many of our guests up on the dance floor and having such a great time…. it was exactly how we had wanted the reception to go!!!

I have to add as well that I know the guys had real trouble getting to us due to really bad traffic problems and had spent several hours stuck in a car on an exceptionally hot day and they got to the hotel later than hoped….. But they set up in no time at all and came on stage and played as if they had been warming up all day and not been stuck on the motorway until 45mins before!!! All in all they were brilliant…..and I would say to anyone looking to book a band for any occasion not just a wedding to just book these guys as they will not be disappointed!!! We are really glad we had them at the wedding as they finished of our day perfectly!!!

  • They performed fantastically and were completely professional throughout. They played brilliantly and although we were a bit slow to get up and dance they persevered to get a load of us up to do “Dad (& Mum)-dancing “. Once we’d all had a few drinks to lose those inhibitions there was a constant presence on the dance floor.

The set list was absolutely spot on, and I must compliment Lee on his voice really matching the material, and being strong enough to not sound like someone simply covering another tune. And the band really made the songs their own and played really tightly together. There was a good rapport with the guests, and a little bit of banter and one-liners allowed them to integrate well with the party spirit.

I wish them well and won’t hesitate in recommending them to anyone who asks.

  • The night was a brilliant success with the band Wingfield playing their part. The band performed some tracks with real verve & conviction. The night had a Halloween theme & the members of Wingfield were suitably made up- or perhaps they always look like that! If ever we were to recommend a good/great band they would be up there.

  • Just returned from our Honeymoon and I thought I would drop you a quick email to say what a fantastic group Wingfield were. We have had numerous compliments following our Wedding about the group and how great they were, we could not have asked for more and they just completed a wonderful day for the two of us and all our guests. The tracks they played and the sound they created was truly amazing and as good as any group Annie and I have heard live and that is a huge compliment as we have seen many live performances from groups like Coldplay, Van Morrison, Killers, Queen, Levellers, Madonna, Elton John and many more. We would not hesitate in booking Wingfield again and would have no hesitation in recommending friends or anybody else to them. Both Annie and I wish the band all the best for the future and we will be using them again when we next celebrate a special occasion.

  • Just a quick note to say a very big thank you! Simon has already phoned the band since our wedding and thanked them personally. WOW what a group! Totally fantastic - we've had so many comments from friends and family complimenting us for finding such a great band. Obviously thanks to your web site we were able to find them! We are still buzzing about our wedding and they helped to end the day on a HIGH!

  • We would like to thank Wingfield very much for the great performance that they put on at our wedding in July this year. They really got the party going and kept people on the dance floor all night. We have had lots of comments from our guests about how much they enjoyed the band and their choice of music which was varied and contemporary. Thanks again, and we would really recommend Wingfield to anyone who is looking to book a great live band.

  • Mike, can you please pass on a huge thank you to Wingfield for a simply outstanding performance on Saturday night (21.6.08). They were a pleasure to deal with, sounded fantastic, had the crowd singing and dancing all night even when we lost power half way through. Their choice of playlist was exactly right for the occasion and many guests have commented what superb musicians they were and where did I find them! They really made my party a night to remember, even though a lot of G&T was consumed!

    Jo, Wedding, June 2008
  • The band were absolutely superb. Better than the demo CD. I'd definitely choose them again. Thank you!

  • Apologies for the delay - things have been really hectic since we got back from honeymoon and are only really beginning to settle down now....Just wanted to ask you to pass on a HUGE thank you to Wingfield for their performance on 22nd Sept 2007. They were absolutely fantastic and really got everyone on the dancefloor! They had an incredibly contagious energy and were so versatile, really picking up on what the guests liked. Lots of people have since commented on how great the band was, and a really nice bunch of guys with it! We wish them all the best for the future, and will be recommending them to all our friends.

    Nina, Wedding, September 2007
  • Hi Mike, I thought the band were excellent, and I have had many comments form colleagues along the same lines. I have also passed on Wingfields details to a couple of other people who are organising event s so hopefully they will be getting more bookings from us!

    Louise, Corporate Event, September 2007
  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Paul, I really can't thank you and the rest of Wingfield enough for playing at our wedding. You were completely fantastic and it made the night for us. ALL of our guests, young and old, said that you were amazing and will most definitely be coming to see you again. Infact, some old mates of mine have asked me to arrange a group meet up to come and see you play some time soon. Several of my female friends were completely enamoured with you all too and asked which of you were single!!! Your guitarist seemed to be a particular favourite!

Seriously though, we had a fantastic day, despite the shite weather, and I can't wait to get the video back so we can watch you play all over again!! Amazing day - thanks for being such a big part of it. Very best wishes to you all and Happy 2007.

    Dave, Wedding, July 2007
  • Wow - what a fantastic band, the room was electric and I have never seen so many people at a wedding dance so much! Refreshing to have a band which plays different music, rather than the same old stuff. They didn't just perform the interacted with the crowd, and the songs they performed were not just covers, they had the bands own unique twist. Wish I had have booked them for longer, if I have a function I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone. Fantastic - call me a Wingfield groupie!

    Sarah, Wedding, July 2007
  • Just a quick one to say the band were fab and everyone had a brilliant time - thanks for sorting them out for us at the last minute!

    Lucy, Wedding, June 2007
  • Paul, just a quick e-mail to say thanks for the entertainment on 17th March. Everyone who I have spoken to since that night has commented on how good you guys were so we’re very grateful. Both myself and Sarah (my wife – hard to say now) thought you were great too. I will be keeping an eye out for your gigs in the future and if ok with you, I’ll forward on your details to any of my friends who are interested in you guy’s playing for them!!
