Real weddings

Emma & Marek let their hair down to fun jive band Five Guys Named Moe, who looked as good as they sounded at Rhinefield House in Hampshire.

Emma & Marek

Our wedding took place at Rhinefield House Hotel in The New Forest. We have been together for nearly seven years and have spent most of our anniversaries in this area, so we felt it fitting that we should marry there too.

We wanted a band that not only sounded great but looked the part too. When we came across Five Guys Named Moe, we hit the jackpot!

When we were viewing venues, we walked in to Rhinefield House and couldn't help but be bowled over by it's beauty and stunning grounds. We had found "The One".

Rhinefield House has a grandeur to it and we wanted to stay in keeping with this, so we aimed for classy elegance.

The theme for the wedding was horses, as Emma has been very keen on them since she was little. We created this theme with subtle touches throughout including a horse cake topper and Emma arriving in a horse and carriage.

Emma is also very good at crafts, so made many items for the day. She made (with my help) favours, which were soaps with a horse motif on the front (even smelling of carrot cake!) and she cross-stitched place cards.

We both donate to "The Horse Trust" charity and wanted to involve them somehow; so we named our tables after our favourite horses and attached a little logo bug to each place card.

We had many favourite moments for the day. It started when we had just finished our ceremony and stepped outside for photos, at which point the sun came out having rained all morning and we had beautiful blue sky in our pictures.

Our cake supplier, "Gifted Heart Cakes" had added a fourth tier to our cake without us knowing, which we saw for the first time when we viewed the breakfast room.

This was such a sweet gesture, as we had ordered our cake toppers from America. The cake has gone on to be very popular globally on Facebook!

The final favourite moment I feel must have a mention is the elation with being able to let our hair down and relax after the formality of the day.

After getting my speech done, it was time to party and the band helped us do exactly that. We didn't leave the dance floor all night!

We wanted a fun swing band as we both love music of that genre and I used to play in a rhythm and blues band.

We wanted a band that not only sounded great but looked the part too. When we came across Five Guys Named Moe, we thought we had hit the jackpot!

They had a double bass and saxophone and had an awesome dress code to match. We felt they would generate a great atmosphere and go down well with our guests. They did not disappoint on anything!

We wanted to book through an agency to have the security if anything were to go wrong. We browsed a lot of websites looking for the right wedding band, ideally one based in Hampshire. When we found Five Guys Named Moe on Function Central we contacted them straight away.

Function Central had all the security we were looking for and were really helpful and professional with the booking process. They provided a brilliant link between the band and us and assisted with everything including PAT certificates and Public Liability certificates.

I would advise doing things well ahead of time and making contingency plans for everything. Research well to ensure you get the best service possible from your suppliers. but most of all... have fun with the planning, you will miss it when it's over!
