Brazil Connection plays music by Brazil's greatest composers from the 1900s to the present day, from early Brazilian tangos by Ernesto Nazareth, to classic choros from the 1930s and '40s by legendary figures Pixinguinha and Jacob do Bandolim, to contemporary greats such as Hermeto Pascoal, Guinga and Luciana Rabello.

The group's performances have included the Brazil: Brasil festival at London's Barbican Centre, the National Theatre's 'Watch This Space' festival, the Royal Festival Hall Foyer, the Cheltenham Festival of Literature, the London Guitar Festival and jazz clubs and arts centres across the UK.

Brazil’s greatest gift to theworld – apart from fantastic footballers and unbelievable beaches – has to be the samba.  But the image of bikini- clad dancers on giant carnival floats is only one part of that great musical tradition; samba’s roots lie in a history of fabulous acoustic music stretching back well over a century. Imagine a Brazilian version of Cuba’s legendary Buena Vista Social Club and you’ll get the idea. And, just as the folk music tradition is alive and well in the hands of a younger generation, so are the classic songs of samba, and the great tunes of Choro, samba’s instrumental “twin” style.  Brazil Connection bring the irresistible rhythms and beautiful melodies of the wonderful tradition of samba and choro to life in an evening of sensational acoustic music and song.

Brazil Connection are available as a duo, quartet or quintet. The quintet is recommended for dancing.

Testimonials

“Thank you all so much for such a superb night’s entertainment. It was magical. I glanced around the hall a couple of times during the performance and all I could see was a sea of transfixed, happy faces. We’ve put on quite a few of these shows now and I have never seen one of our audiences so obviously thrilled.”
