With celebrations now spanning the globe, from Argentina to Vietnam, Munich's traditional Oktoberfest has become a festival of epic proportions. The Bavarian Volksfest (beer festival and traveling funfair) began in 1810 and is now bigger than ever, with its unique combination of local beer, music and attractions, making it a festival of serious fun!

Beer and music are the rudiments of any Oktoberfest celebration, with a whopping 6.5 million litres of beer consumed in Munich during the festivities last year. So with these being firm English favourites too, why not host your own Oktoberfest-inspired beer festival? Our Manchester based Bavarian Brass are one of the UK's leading brass Oompah bands, throwing Bavarian energy at popular tunes.

Lederhosen and dirndl dresses define the look of this iconic Bavarian celebration, so what better excuse to dress up and get hair-plaiting? London-based Oompah band The Edelweiss All-Stars, as well as being extraordinary musicians, perform in traditional German gear, providing an authentic focal point for your celebrations.

For a twist on the classic brass band theme, hire Drum 'n' Brass, who turn the traditional brass format on its head, adding a drummer, and playing upbeat danceable brass arrangements of pop tunes. So go on, grab a Ma├čkrug and get thigh slapping!
