What style of music do our wedding bands play?

Our wedding bands specialise in evening and after dinner events and typically perform a broad range of uptempo, mainstream rock, pop, soul and chart music from the 1950s to the present day. You’ll hear music to keep everyone on the dancefloor, with bands performing songs from a diverse range of artists such as The Beatles, Elvis, Queen, Prince, Oasis, Adele, The Weeknd and Dua Lipa.

Our bands are ideal for keeping guests of all ages entertained and get everyone dancing!

Since weddings are cross-generational events, most bands will perform a mix of classic and modern pop music to appeal to you and you friends as well as grandparents and grandkids. But if you want a wedding band specialising in a particular genre, check out our wedding soul bands, or wedding ceilidh bands. For more offbeat wedding music ideas, see our alternative wedding bands.

Wedding music isn’t just about the final party: if you're looking for background music to accompany your drinks reception or wedding meal try our jazz bands, acoustic musicians or singers. If you're after wedding ceremony musicians for the bridal entrance, exit or the signing of the register, check out our harpists or string quartets.

What areas do our wedding bands cover?

The majority of our wedding bands will travel internationally, and UK wide, including the following regions:

      Hiring a wedding band?

All wedding bands for hire are fully self-contained with their own PA system, microphones, backline and instruments. This is adequate for most marquee or indoor weddings but let us know if you're expecting more than 250 guests, so we can check whether their system is large enough. Most bands will also bring lighting for both the stage and dancefloor.

Standard wedding band performances are two hours, usually split over 2 x 1-hour or 3 x 40-minute sets, but they can play for less time, or longer (for an additional cost) if preferred.

All our wedding bands provide mp3 music during the interval, and some are able to upgrade to a more advanced DJ service using virtual DJ software, so they can mix songs and take your guests’ requests.

You can also choose from a range of "add-on" services to make the most of your band and musicians throughout the day. Some wedding bands offer a solo cocktail piano or acoustic guitar duo set during your drinks reception, a jazz trio during your wedding breakfast or a DJ set until last orders, so you can have non-stop soundtrack to your day. This is more cost-effective than booking separate musicians as it saves on travel costs and equipment hire.

Our bands will be happy to learn and perform your first dance request, provided they think they can arrange it for their line-up and do it justice - check their profile to see whether they can. If not, they'd be happy to play it via an iPod, through their PA system.

If you would like to book a wedding band and you've already received a quote from us, simply email or call us and we’ll draw up a secure booking contract between you and the act immediately. You’ll need to pay a deposit by credit/debit card, with the rest payable nearer, or on, the event date.

If booking a live wedding band, there are a few things you'll need to ensure:

      • Access to a power supply (at least two separate domestic plug sockets are fine for the majority of 3 / 4-piece bands).
      • A flat, dry performance area large enough for the band. As a guide, allow for 3m wide x 3m deep for a 3-piece band, then add an additional square metre for each extra band member. A raised stage is preferred but not essential.
      • Food and refreshments on the night. Most bands performing in the evening will require a hot meal to keep their energy up.
      • Some bands will also request things like reserved parking or a secure changing room.

It's also worth checking if your venue has any sound restrictions in place. Most bands can perform within the limits of a sound limiter set to 95dB or higher.

Tips for saving money on your wedding band

If you haven't yet set your wedding date, consider booking a midweek or winter wedding to take advantage of the most competitive rates.

Also, consider hiring a band from your local area, to save on travel and accommodation costs. We have wedding music bands based in most major towns and cities across the UK, including:

      Wedding bands in the South

You can also browse bands by county, UK wide.

      Wedding bands in the North

Wedding bands in the Midlands and East Anglia

We can also provide wedding bands in South Wales and Scotland.
