Special offer! Book within 7 days of your enquiry and receive a free DJ service provided by the band (worth £150).

Wirral-based four-piece Hudson’s professional yet flexible, laid back and friendly approach to their many audiences has kept them busy with gigs throughout the UK since 2005. They are as suitable for golden oldies who still remember the ark as kids wanting the latest chart hits - their repertoire stretches as far back as the birth of rock & roll and blues in the 50s, and continues right through to Franz Ferdinand Arctic Monkeys (as well as any special song or first dance you request). They can provide a solo performance, play as a duo or arrange an acoustic set; they even provide a cocktail pianist.

Guitarist Ade has played with Sir Paul McCartney at the Liverpool Empire, and played with The Merseybeats for over six years, gracing famous UK venues such as the Albert Hall. He has also toured with Gerry and The Pacemakers, the Swinging Blue Jeans and the Searchers. Since 2005, the band have played at hundreds of functions including weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, New Year’s Eve parties and Bar Mitzvahs, as well as holding a number of club residencies in the Wirral.

  • Gig went off brilliantly. Boys were super: arrived punctually and really got into the spirit of the evening. Everyone very happy with them. Another good find!

  • Just writing to say the band was great for our event..sorry I ever doubted you!
They were laid back, friendly, and even stayed until 1am playing music from their laptops until the end of the night. My consultants were up dancing and they even got me and my Regs on the stage singing Hey Jude and Mustang Sally!! People were congratulating me all night for the whole event topped off by Hudson! Great night, cheers again.

  • Yes we had been meaning to write to you and we will send Hudson a thank you card. They were absolutely perfect. Everybody commented on how good they were and how they got the party going. They were very professional, talented and nice guys as well! We would highly recommend them to anybody. Many thanks

  • After spending hours and hours trawling through websites and listening to demos we found Hudson on function central and hired them as a 4 piece for our wedding on 19th August. As people who regularly go to see live bands we had very high expectations but (along with all the guests!) were absolutely blown away by how good Hudson were. Many of the guests said they had never seen such a good live band. I could go on for ages and ages about how professional yet friendly they were, how varied their playlist was and how they managed to get guests dancing who don't normally dance, but to sum it up- if we ever have an excuse to have a party on that scale in the future, I will definitely ask them to play at it! And we both would like to say a big thank you to Jamie and the lads for making our reception so brilliant and wish them all every success for the future!

We found our experience of booking a band through Function Central really straightforward and stress free and we would definately use them again and recommend them very highly to our friends.

  • I can safely say that every single guest (young & old) in the marquee on the night of our wedding, thoroughly enjoyed Hudson. Not only was the musical talent and music selection fantastic, but their interaction with the guests wonderful. Being huge music fans and realising how important the band is to make the wedding evening a success, we poured over your web-site trying to select from the bands on offer.

Without hesitation, we made the right choice in Hudson and would definately recommend them for any social occasion. They played our first dance song beautifully and even stayed behind late at the end of the night to perform a surprising little acoustic set.

They are a really friendly, talented & amenable bunch of guys and it was a pleasure to meet them and an honour to have them play at our wedding. Thanks guys......you made a special day even more special.

  • Could you please pass on our thanks to Hudson who played at our 10th Wedding Anniversary party recently. They were fantastic. We had a very diverse age range amongst our guests but EVERYONE who attended couldn't believe how good the band were. A couple of folks have already asked for details of how to book them, so expect some more bookings boys. The final set was absolutely storming and got everyone dancing.

  • We hired Hudson for our wedding reception. We initially chose the band because they had a brilliant repertoire that spanned over half a century and was full of great crowd pleasers.

Not only were they extremely receptive to our requests for songs, but they learnt a song for our first dance within a week! We actually even preferred their version of our first dance to the original version!

The band were also really easy going and flexible. Our speeches ran way over and they had to set up late, which messed up their schedule for the evening, however, the band didn’t seem put out in the slightest and got on with things in very good humour.

Our guests were up and dancing from the very beginning of the evening reception, and the dance floor was overflowing with people all night. What was even nicer was that the band clearly enjoyed getting people up and dancing.

I have since had numerous complements from our guests of all ages on the band, their professionalism and their enthusiasm. Altogether, an excellent choice

  • We hired Hudson through Function Central to play at our wedding, we found the booking really straightforward and the guys at the agency very helpful.

Hudson were truly amazing guys and certainly got everyone going. They are a great bunch of lads and I wouldn't think twice of passing their details on.
Thanks so much for making it a night to remember.

    Sarah, Wedding, Warwickshire, July 2009
  • For us the evening reception was one of the most important parts of the wedding and the risk of the band not being any good, or worse, not turning up at all, was probably the one thing we were most apprehensive about. Hudson turned out to be better than we could have hoped. They were a really nice group of lads, really friendly and they looked great; and best of all they sounded brilliant, really professional - much more the kind of thing you'd hear at a decent gig than a 'cheesy' wedding band, which was exactly what we wanted.

They were flexible about what to include on the set list and the whole set up process with Function Central was incredibly easy. They were quick to respond to any questions and kept things straightforward and clear.

We really lucked-out finding Hudson for our wedding. They couldn’t have been more ideal. Thank you so much!

  • I just wanted to ask if you would pass on our thanks to Hudson, who played at our wedding on 31 May. They were really great guys, sounded fantastic and had everybody up dancing, from the golden oldies who remember the birth of rock 'n' roll, right through to the 90s indie kids (special thanks for the Stone Roses from Duncan) and the younger ones who are more familiar with the Killers and Arctic Monkeys.

Not only were they good fun on the night (although letting myself and Duncan take to the mics was a big risk!), they were the ultimate professionals (prompt and inconspicuous in their set-up, they looked great, and they waited until the end of the night before dismantling their kit, which I hadn't really considered but was really appreciated as I have seen bands carting off guitars through the buffet queue and it really doesn't look good!).

In all, they really made the day; weather-wise it was a really hot day, and I was rather worried that the guests would stay outside all evening, but the band got everybody inside and really got the party started. Several people have already asked for their details for future functions, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. In fact I want to get married all over again so that we can have another party!

    Angela, Wedding, Liverpool, May 2008
  • Just wanted to say that the guys from Hudson were absolutely brilliant. They played a couple of great sets and made a fantastic job of the requests we made (even let me up on stage to join them for a couple of numbers). They then joined us in the bar and played acoustic requests for us and our guests until the early hours. We really couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of guys. Please pass on our thanks and best wishes to the band. Thanks for all your help.

    Sarah, Wedding, Manchester, May 2007
  • Hugely refreshing rock 'n' roll, playing classics brilliantly from every era... they bring the house down at every show!

Adam, Club manager, Liverpool, April 2007
  • Thanks for a great night. We always thought the band could make or break the night and you more than made it for us! Thanks also for being such nice guys and so easy to work with. Hopefully see you again soon!

M Johnson, Wedding, Wirral, March 2007
  • A huge thank you for an excellent evening! Didn’t realise all our friends were able to dance for so long, or even at all!! Are you available to play for our silver wedding anniversary?!!!

Mr Cross, Wedding anniversary, Liverpool, September 2006
  • Hudson have entertained us on numerous occasions including our New Year's Eve Party in 2005. They are an extremely professional and flexible band who are prompt, reliable and well organised. Their extensive and wide-ranging repertoire entertains all ages.
