What people say Help

  • Hi all, Just a message to say thanks for making it a great evening, everyone had so much fun! So happy we booked you guys. All the best!

Craig and Jodie, Wedding, Brighton, May 2016
  • The band was brilliant! Many of our guests were complimenting how good you guys were and I really do believe it added a different edge to our wedding. The range of songs you sang was perfect and really did get everyone up dancing. I'm sure you may have had a few laughs, watching our friends and families dance and have fun. Claire and I would also like to thank you for singing and playing our first dance. As asked, it felt like it had a little more tempo to it. Claire bless her was awfully nervous, but I hope you'll agree we did ok? Thank you again for making our day perfect.

Jack and Claire, Wedding, Hampshire, February 2016
  • The Sweet & Lowdown were absolutely incredible on our wedding day. An amazing repertoire of music which was so in tune with our favourite songs, it was almost spooky! Even now in November, four months later, our wedding guests are still commenting on how incredible the band were! Our day was simply amazing and The Sweet & Lowdown were the icing on the cake. Polite, helpful, talented and an energetic!

Stewart & Anna, Wedding, Sussex, July 2015
  • What better way to pay testimony to a band than a packed dance floor full of happy dancing and singing guests! We absolutely loved The Sweet & The Lowdown who played at our wedding - they were flawless musicians with a really excellent set list that kept us calm with seamless and smooth last minute time changes due to our schedule overrunning! We would highly recommend them to other couples looking for the perfect live band - they were the best!

    Claire, Wedding, Surrey, August 2015
  • They were absolutely incredible, from the booking and follow up calls they were professional and polite, they did everything to help with our requests including structuring a set list around our preferences and even took the time to learn a new song for our first dance. When they arrived they set up quickly and without any fuss and once they started playing we knew we'd made the right choice... They sounded awesome, don't hesitate to book this band, everyone was up dancing and their style is brilliant, slightly quirky and lot's of fun. Their rendition of the Black Keys 'Everlasting Light' for our first dance was excellent we were so pleased that they took the time to learn the song and add it to their playlist. Simply brilliant, all our guests commented on how good they were and how they made the whole wedding such a great day, thanks guys!

    Jonathan, Wedding, Kent, August 2015

  • Thank you so much for your brilliant sets at our wedding on 30th March! All our guests were raving about you, especially your version of Paul Simon's 'Call me Al' (and the impromptu conga line it generated - our friends clearly didn't understand out 'no cheese' policy :)) and the gorgeous rendition of 'Everlasting Light' for the first dance. You were all brilliant!

    Rose, Wedding, Suffolk, March 2015
  • Just wanted to let the band know that we have had SO much great feedback about you guys, everyone loved what you did!! I’ve passed Function Central's details to several people who are interested in hiring you for weddings/parties this year. I fear I was a little worse for wear by the time we bumped into each other later in the evening, but I hope you had everything you needed and were able to enjoy the evening yourselves. Again, thank you for a fantastic evening.

Natasha, Corporate event, Oxfordshire, January 2015
  • We were both very happy with the performance of the band. They had such a great range of songs yet all in their individual style that we enjoyed so much from their showreel. All the band members were very friendly and had good banter with the guests and they seemed to enjoy how much we all enjoyed them and their sets.

    Richard, Wedding, Warminster, December 2014

They played our chosen first dance brilliantly and even filled the time during their break with a great playlist that kept people going. Everyone has said what an amazing band they were - highly recommended!

Natalie, Birthday Party, Brighton, September 2014
  • We booked The Sweet & Lowdown to play our wedding on 5th September 2014, after falling in love with their songs on the website. They were absolutely amazing! Such a talented group of musicians, also very friendly and professional. They were set up and ready to go in no time, with no fuss. They performed our first dance song which sounded fantastic! And the rest of the playlist was brilliant. They play such a diverse range of songs, there is something for everyone to enjoy. They had everybody up and dancing and created the best atmosphere for a party - which is exactly what we wanted for our wedding reception.

If you are on the fence trying to decide… BOOK THIS BAND!! You will not be disappointed! Thank you to The Sweet & Lowdown for making an already perfect day even better!

Gareth & Laura, Wedding, Berkshire, September 2014
  • I just wanted to say thanks again for giving us such a great night of music! You were by far and away the best wedding band that we have ever seen and so many people came up to us to say similar things. It really made our day so thank you!

Ben & Claire , Wedding, Suffolk, September 2014
  • Leah and I are so happy that we booked you for our wedding. You were professional, friendly, accommodating (especially to four year olds wanting to play drums and sing!) and most of all sounded absolutely fantastic. I have had a lot of people comment on how good you were. Thank you for playing the music to our first dance, it was perfect. The range of music you played fitted the theme and mood of the wedding perfectly and helped the whole evening build to a crescendo of utter madness and fun.

Thanks again so much. We'll never forget our day and you played a large part in that. Be assured that we will be recommending you to everyone!

Tom & Leah, Wedding, Hamphsire, July 2014

Rosa, Private event, Surrey, February 2014
  • We wanted to send you a special message of thanks for your wonderful performance for our wedding on Boxing Day! You and the guys made our reception a very special event indeed, and your singing and playing have been much talked about and admired by all our family and friends. Once again, thank you so much!

Tracey & Brian, Wedding, Cambridge, December 2013
  • We were very satisfied with the act. They were punctual, professional, lovely people. They played a fantastic set and our guests commented the whole night, about how great they were. Not your usual cheesy wedding band at all. Would thoroughly recommend this band.

Tracey, Wedding, East Yorkshire, October 2013
  • I'm sorry it's taken so long to email to thank you guys for doing such an awesome job of playing at our wedding. We were really really happy with the job you did, you were brilliant, as we suspected you would be! Thank you for playing the songs we requested, Clare really enjoyed all the Disney and my friends and I loved the Beatles, especially Mr Postman. 3 of us play Beatles covers in Australia and that song is one of our favourites to do - it was unanimously agreed that you did a great job, the harmonies sounded great! Thank you very much for leaving the music running while you were taking stuff down, the guests loved having more dancing time, as I'm sure you could see. Thank you so much again, please pass on our thanks to the rest of the band and do let me know if there's anything we can do for you guys.

    Tom, Wedding, Bath, September 2013
  • Thanks so much for playing at my wedding yesterday. Everyone said how great you sounded, we loved everything you played. We had to rush off as our baby was desparate for sleep, so sorry we never got a chance to say 'bye. Thanks again!

    Karen, Wedding, September 2013
  • On behalf of me and my wife Karin, you guys were amazing at our Wedding. You really had people dancing from the get go until the end. Very impressed. Thank you guys Xx

Kevin & Karin, Wedding, Surrey, September 2013
  • We were delighted with the band. They were punctual, professional, played to a very high standard and we had excellent feedback from our guests. We enjoyed the range of music they played. The dance floor was never empty.

    Keren, Wedding, Kent, August 2013
  • You were all fabulous and our friends and family enjoyed your music so much. Thank you for being part of out day and creating such an amazing atmosphere.

    Domie, Wedding, July 2013
  • Thanks so much for an amazing performance. Everyone loved you guys. You had everyone dancing all night!

    Nico, Wedding, June 2013
  • The Sweet & Lowdown were brilliant. They were very friendly and professional. The music was fantastic and we have had lots of positive feedback; people have been asking how to contact them!
They were a pleasure to work with and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to others and would book them again anyday!

Claire, Speakeasy Ball, Surrey, June 2013
  • We were very satisfied. They were great fun and played the PERFECT sort of music! All our guests were glued to the dance floor and thought they were awesome. We also were very very happy with them. They were really nice people, thanks guys.

Nicholas , Wedding, Essex, May 2013
  • A new band but with an old soul, this group of revellers – fur coats, vintage mic, trumpet and all – filled the dance floor from first to last song. The song choices were all so fun and well produced that as soon as you took a breather from dancing, you were forced straight back up. A cover of King of The Swingers was a highlight, and our first dance song, Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac, was virtually the original. I can't recommend The Sweet & Lowdown enough. Gush!

Rosie & James, Wedding, Isle of Wight, December 2012
  • The Sweet & Lowdown are experienced beyond their years, read the audience well and have a wide, energetic and polished catalogue of covers and original material at their disposal. All vocalists were excellent and were both a pleasure to listen to and extremely versatile across their sets. The band's friendly personalities really shine through when they play. The Sweet & Lowdown looked great and have a great individual style when playing their own, accomplished tracks.

Becky & Dave, Wedding, London, November 2012
  • The Sweet & Lowdown were such an easy addition to the day, they made no fuss and given prior notice of the music we wanted for our first dance, they absolutely nailed it! We could not have asked for a better, more entertaining group to help us celebrate. We felt we had a real personal service from them and that we were not just another generic wedding gig – this is just what we wanted. The Sweet & Lowdown are a young, imaginative and refreshing alternative to some of the tired and predictable circuit musicians offered to us when we began our search. It is worth noting that since our big day, we have had excellent comments about the music from almost every group in attendance, from the serious dancers, the oldies, the music lovers and the younger party boys and girls. This widespread praise is testament to their inclusive set list and accomplished sound.

Victoria & Dave, Wedding, Reading, August 2012
