Real weddings
Millie and Sheahan's wedding at Baylis House in Berkshire was a fusion of English and Sri Lankan culture with a side of American jazz from talented london jazz band Midnight Blue.
Our wedding was a real fusion of cultures! We got married in a traditional English church, then incorporated elements of our Sri Lankan heritage into the reception later on.
We had our wedding reception at Baylis House in Berkshire. It's a Grade 1 listed building set on four beautiful acres of landscaped grounds with a glorious history.
We selected Midnight Blue to play a set during our welcome drinks and canapes and then again during the main meal of our wedding reception.
What attracted us to the band was their repertoire which included such a wide range of new and old songs!
The band were fantastic – we've had so many compliments about them from young and old saying how they thoroughly enjoyed the music.
Later on we booked traditional Sri Lankan drummers and dancers to entertain – everyone loved them!
It would be difficult to name a highlight as we enjoyed every minute. We were so pleased with Midnight Blue – they went above and beyond what we had expected. I cannot say thank you enough!
