Party down with Party Up, London’s slickest male-fronted 6-piece pop, soul, funk outfit! The band features some of London’s top musicians, including a singer who had a hit with Artful Dodger.
The band include keyboards and sax in their line-up, which allows them to cover a large number of songs that would off-limits for many guitar bands. This includes classics by Stevie Wonder through to floor-fillers by Michael Jackson and onto more recent chart toppers by Amy Winehouse, as well as the rock and indie favourites everyone loves. Party Up specialise in getting guests up and moving on the dancefloor and their effortless cool and astonishingly high level of musicianship has provided the perfect dance-along reception for hundreds of weddings and parties, as well as corporate entertainment for clients including the BBC, Barclays and Hilton Hotels.
When they’re not Partying Up, the band are busy: singer Lifford has performed on Top of the Pops, TFI Friday and Later With Jools Holland, playing his top-ten hit; bass player Joe works with members of Jamiroquai and Zero 7; drummer John also works with Zero 7, as well as a member of Wu Tang Clan; sax player Richard has released a string of records, and is a renowned DJ and beat maker; guitarist Max plays at world famous venues such as Shepherd’s Bush Empire and the 100 Club; keyboard player Jessica is about to release her latest album, as well as working with soul and rare groove stars such as Tom Browne and James Mason.
Party Up can be expanded to a 7-piece with trumpet to create a 2-piece horn section, which lends a powerful, rich sound to their Motown, soul and funk repertoire.
The band are friendly, flexible and reliable, and will do their utmost to ensure your day goes smoothly.
