Canal Street Swing Band

The Canal Street Swing Band, hailing from Leeds, West Yorkshire, has been performing together since the balmy summer of 2011. They have demonstrated their musical prowess across the UK, earning acclaim at numerous venues, from raucous bars to highly respected jazz festivals.

The band excels at transporting their audience back to the lively jazz scene of New Orleans in the "roaring 20s." Back then, the music was dynamic and mostly improvised, known for its overlapping melodies and solos that shaped the iconic 'New Orleans' sound. It's this very essence of music that the Canal Street Swing Band aims to bring back in their performances, concentrating on popular tunes from that unmistakable period.

The band are based in Yorkshire but regularly travel the length and breadth of the UK to play at weddings and events. Their typical ensemble features seven players, but they can be booked as a band ranging from three to seven members, depending on event scale and budget.

Additionally, they offer services tailored to different event needs, from solo piano or trumpet fanfares for wedding ceremonies to acoustic wandering bands for outdoor drinks receptions, or a background jazz duo/trio for dining events.
