Emily has been providing harp music for weddings and events for many years both as a solo harpist and as part of a flute & harp duo, and has played at many of the top wedding and events venues across the South West and the Midlands.

Her delightful repertoire has something for everyone, from Canon in D to Can You Feel The Love Tonight!

Thank you for the wonderful atmosphere you created for us – you really did make it a magical occasion and a treasured memory! Tim, Wedding, Hertfordshire

She specialises in weddings and is available for the wedding ceremony (20 mins before the wedding, during signing of the register and as guests exit), the drinks reception or the wedding breakfast (see booking options below).

Emily gained a BMus (Hons) from the University of Birmingham whilst continuing her harp studies with Robert Johnston (principal harpist City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra). She has since performed concertos with regional orchestras and given numerous recitals, and has played for the CBSO, the Royal Shakespeare Company and is principal harpist for the New Bristol Sinfonia.

Flute/harp duo

Emily regularly plays as part of a flute/harp duo with flautist Diane. As well as being Principal Flute of the Orchestra of the Swan, Birmingham Opera Company and Mid-Wales Opera ensemble, Diane is in much demand as a freelance orchestral player, performing with other leading orchestras including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Birmingham Contemporary Music Group.

Diane has also worked under eminent conductors including Sir Simon Rattle and Pierre Boulez. She's also appeared at major music clubs, festivals and on BBC television and radio.

Tim, Wedding, Hertfordshire, December 2016

“Emily's harp music provided the perfect backdrop to our wedding drinks reception on a sunny but chilly October afternoon. All of the arrangements with Function Central and Emily herself were very easy and straight forward. Emily arrived punctually and was already set up when we came out of the ceremony - as requested. Although we did not manage to speak very much with Emily during the event, she just got on with what we asked her to do. She seemed friendly, was smartly presented, and is clearly very talented - the harp music flowed through the reception rooms at the venue as well as through the patio doors onto the veranda to be enjoyed by all guests. In fact, several guests commented on how beautiful and peaceful the music was. Thank you, Emily! Thank you once again for putting us in contact with Emily and helping everything to run so smoothly.”

Victoria & Andrew, Wedding, Gloucestershire, October 2016

They arrived on time, looked professional and played as professionals with so much expertise and attention to detail with the pieces they were asked to perform. They were very polite and friendly and couldn't be faulted in any way.”
