Postmodern Swing Club are an exceptionally talented and very flexible band, who can perform music from the classic era of jazz to current pop hits... all cunningly put into vintage style.

Available as a 5 to 9 piece band, Postmodern Swing Club are formed from top class musicians who exude sophistication and energy!

Absolutely incredible and really made the party. The Atmosphere was fantastic! Amy, Wedding, West Sussex, August 2017

Having re-arranged lots of music from internet sensation, Postmodern Jukebox, this fabulous band have also created many of their own stomping swing twists on pop tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s up to the present day!

The Postmodern Swing Club have a huge repertoire and can tailor any performance to an individual clients needs.

They have a large selection of laid back tunes when something more low key is required, as well as their hip up-beat swing tunes that will make you want to put on your spats and tassels and learn to Charleston like it’s 1929.

These outstanding musicians can tailor their performances to the exact needs of any client, performing in a specific style, or creating a varied programme of music through an evening.

If you want all the sophistication of swing music at your event, but want everybody to get down and boogie afterwards, the band can also perform a soul/funk set later in the evening (see repertoire).

Their charismatic singers deliver superb performances from mellow jazz through to the most energetic and soulful funk. You can choose to have either male or female singers performing for you or even better... have both!

They also feature the funkiest horn section imaginable who will add a massive wow factor to any event.

Postmodern Swing Club feature a flexible line up, normally performing as a 5 piece, but with additional members up to a full 9 piece band. They come with a male singer as standard but you can request one of their female singers as lead vocalist instead.

DJ music or background music can be played in between their sets, with the option to link your own ipod to their system and put your own playlist on.

The band use the highest quality 2000W PA system (with sub) plus lighting rig, but also have smaller set ups for more intimate venues.

“Just a quick note to say thank you again for last night’s performance – it was amazing. I loved the way you played to the crowd and sensed what got them up dancing. Everyone said how amazing you all were and I will be recommending Postmodern Swing Club to all!!”

“Great gig, we just wanted to give a huge thank you to the band for Saturday night. You were fantastic, everybody we spoke to waxed lyrical about how wonderful you were.”

“Can I just say a huge thank you to you all for making our office party such an amazing night. Everyone has commented today on what an entertaining evening it was and how amazing the band were. Once again thank you.”

“From our initial introduction the band could not have been more professional. Their planning was meticulous - agreeing arrival and set-up arrangements to accommodate our very specific requirements and suggesting song-by-song playlists for each set - to take our guests from post dinner Swing, to Soul & Pop for the New Year celebrations. The start time went a little awry on the night, which must have been frustrating for the band, but they weren’t fazed in any way and adapted seamlessly with a re-jig of the set structures – our guests of course noticed nothing untoward – and they quickly had the dance floor heaving. The lead singer was amazing, with a fantastic range that particularly did the classic swing numbers proud – and also looking fabulous in a shimmering evening gown (the guys were dressed perfectly for the occasion too!). We would recommend Postmodern Swing Club to anyone – you will not be disappointed.”

“Just want to thank you for an incredible two hours of absolutely amazing soulful and classic music. When you all started playing, you could see everyone’s head turning to watch and listen. You are not only amazing to listen to but you perform so well as a group. Every song genre you played was professionally performed and some of the more modern pieces you truly made them your own.”

“We had an absolutely amazing day, and the music was such an integral part of it all. The jazz trio sounded fantastic and worked so well in the room we had for the reception drinks (it started while having our photos taken outside and sounded amazing). It was really nice having the piano in the background for the dinner too, all the music being played sounded great and was exactly what we were after, several people commented on how beautiful it was in the old hall. The big band in the evening was probably the best live band we've seen at a wedding - we might be biased as it was our own - but the dance floor wasn't empty all night, and we've had so many people comment both on the night and since then about how good the music was. Even the events manager at the college was impressed by how good you were (and they organise a lot of events), so much so I think they might be considering hiring you for other events! We really couldn't have been any happier, the music absolutely made our day and especially with Naomi being able to sing the first dance (there were so many variables so really appreciate you being as flexible as you were to allow us to pull this off). We would be very happy to recommend you to anyone looking to hire a band. Thanks again for everything and hope you all enjoyed the day too!”

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and your band for making our day yesterday so perfect! I can't tell you how many of our guests said how much they loved you all. Everything you did was so perfect and I genuinely can't thank you enough for being so wonderful!”

“I was delighted with how the party went and had a fab time myself! The music was just as I hoped and the amount of people that wanted to dance along was much more than I hoped! It was really special having Susanna singing too. Thanks so much for the professional hassle free service and the very classy music set. Lots of people commented how great you were.”

“I just wanted to say a belated big thank to you and the band for being so fantastic at our wedding on the 6th August at Nymans. We were really looking forward to your performance and for our guests to experience you...and you guys didn't disappoint! The dancefloor was packed for both your sets (particularly the funk and soul...so much so that a few guests even got bumped off the dancefloor due to lack of space), and several people said they had never seen a dancefloor so popular and busy at a wedding before. We had so many compliments about you from guests that loved your music and style, and the band perfectly suited our reception and ensured that our wedding ended on the right note (pun intended). I also wanted to say a personal thank you to you for being flexible and easy going on the day, such as pushing times back etc as we were running slightly behind, setting up the PA so we could do the speeches (and my rap), and staying on till the end so we could use your speakers for the final iPod set. It all contributed to a smoother and less stressful experience. Katie and I had a wonderful day, and we luckily managed to spend most of the evening on the dancefloor enjoying ourselves, as I know many couples often miss out on this as they're talking to people. Our motto was if you want to talk to us, you'll find us on the dance floor.”

“I can't thank Postmodern Swing Club enough for playing at our wedding. They were absolutely incredible and really made the party. Thanks to them, all of our guests were up and dancing throughout their set and the atmosphere was fantastic. We had so much fun! They were also on-hand throughout the planning process and were really lovely to work with, helping us choose the set list and playing our requests. The first dance was an incredibly special moment, thanks in large part to them.”

“Thank you all so much for helping making the evening at our wedding go so well. You were such a great band and we had numerous friends and family comment on the day and afterwards complementing you guys. We loved our first dance and so did so many of our guests. It worked perfectly and thanks for being flexible with that. The venue milbridge court said that you guys were the best band they'd had!!! It was great to see everyone dancing right to the end. Thanks so much.”

“I was very pleased with how last Saturday went. All the band were friendly, professional and flexible with the timings which was just what we needed. Our guests seemed to really enjoy the mix of music and it is testament to the quality of the band that the dance floor was filled so quickly.”
