Formed in 2011, Son Aché feature a new generation of mostly Cuban musicians who are all passionate about maintaining the traditions of the genre, continuing the Buena Vista Social Club legacy that put Cuban music back on the map in 1997.

Praised by BBC Radio 3 as the UK's counterpart to the Buena Vista Social Club, Son Aché delivers genuine Cuban son, an Afro-Cuban musical genre that emerged in eastern Cuba's streets in the early 20th century. This vibrant blend of African and Spanish beats forms the core of all salsa music.

Our very own Buena Vista Club – they are irrepressible! A fantastic sound – terrific! Sean Rafferty, BBC Radio 3 In Tune

Son Aché's lead singer has shared the stage with luminaries such as Cachaito from the Buena Vista Social Club, while their trumpet prodigy, a former member of the Santiago Symphony Orchestra, has performed internationally with various esteemed Cuban groups.

Son Aché have also recently released their debut CD. The band has a variable line-up that can be changed to match the occasion. Their preferred line-up is as a 7-piece band made up of a lead vocalist, Cuban mandolin, guitar, bass, trumpet and two percussionists.

If background music is required, the band can strip down to a smaller acoustic line-ups. For larger events, the band can add additional brass and percussion and play as a 10-piece.

Whatever their line-up, Son Aché’s irresistible tropical rhythms ensure a truly sensational, authentic Latin music experience that will make you want to dance 'til dawn!
