Sonora Duo are an experienced and elegant duo, giving well-known songs a fresh acoustic twist. Think beautiful melodies, laid-back vibes and plenty of tunes you’ll recognise – just not quite as you’ve heard them before.

They’re equally at home setting the scene for a wedding ceremony, playing through a busy drinks reception or providing the soundtrack to a party or intimate event. Their combination of warm acoustic guitar and rich, melodic cello creates a sound that’s sophisticated without being stuffy, and relaxed without disappearing into the background.

They’ve got plenty of experience between them too. Sonora Duo’s musical adventures have taken them to venues including Alexandra Palace, O2 Academy Brixton and Mottram Hall, while their wider careers have included studio sessions at Abbey Road

They've also performed with London orchestras and had songwriting tuition with none other than Sir Paul McCartney. Not bad for two people who now spend a fair amount of their time arguing over which songs sound best on cello.

Musically, pretty much anything is fair game. Their repertoire jumps from The Beatles and Elvis Presley to Radiohead, Lana Del Rey and Bruno Mars, with familiar favourites transformed into their own distinctive instrumental arrangements.

The result is live music that feels a little bit different: classy, contemporary and full of personality. Whether guests are settling in for the ceremony, catching up over a glass of fizz or wondering why Radiohead suddenly sounds surprisingly perfect at a wedding, Sonora Duo provide a soundtrack that fits the moment beautifully.
