With more than 5,000 events under his belt, DJ Karlo has seen just about every kind of dancefloor imaginable – and he knows exactly what it takes to get one moving.

From New Year’s Eve on Sydney Harbour to parties at The Savoy, The Dorchester and the Park Lane Hilton, Karlo has spent years perfecting the art of a seriously good night out. His philosophy is pretty simple: read the room, play the right tune at the right moment and know when to let a great track do its thing.

Karlo started his DJ career playing clubs and residencies across London, Leeds, Birmingham and beyond. That club background taught him something you can’t really learn from a playlist – how to read a crowd. He knows when to change things up, when to drop a classic and when everyone is having far too much fun to mess with what’s already working.

Since then, he’s played everything from weddings and private parties to black-tie balls, corporate events, student nights and international celebrations. Along the way, he’s shared the bill with some pretty impressive names too, including Diana Ross, Meat Loaf, Trevor Nelson, Atomic Kitten, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Mick Hucknall.

Corporate events for brands include Lamborghini, HSBC, Tesco, DHL, Michelin, NEXT and Virgin Media, plus major celebrations at venues such as the NEC and Liverpool’s ACC Arena.

But weddings are where all that experience really comes into its own.

DJ Karlo knows a brilliant wedding DJ isn’t just someone who turns up, presses play and hopes for the best. He works alongside the venue and other suppliers, keeps everything relaxed and professional and makes sure the soundtrack feels like your party, not somebody else’s.

Musically, pretty much anything goes. Chart, house, R&B, soul, indie, party classics and plenty in between – Karlo mixes things up to suit the crowd, keeping different generations happy and the dancefloor busy. Whether you’re after something stylish and sophisticated or an all-out party from the first tune to the last, he’ll adapt to the room.
