Where did you get married?
We got married at St Stephen’s in Hampstead, which turned out to be the perfect choice for us. The building itself is absolutely stunning — full of history, character and beautiful architectural details — and being set in such a charming part of London made the whole experience feel even more special. It had that grand, romantic atmosphere we were hoping for without feeling overly formal or intimidating.
Our reception took place at The Old Finsbury Town Hall, another venue we fell in love with straight away. Its art nouveau interior, with sweeping staircases, ornate design and gorgeous lighting, created a spectacular backdrop for the evening. It felt like stepping into a classic, glamorous London celebration.
Function Central were absolutely brilliant throughout the whole planning process and on the day itself. The acts we hired were both fantastic — professional, warm, and exactly the vibe we were hoping for.
Why did you decide to book live music for the day?
Music has always been hugely important to both of us, and we firmly believe it’s one of the things guests remember most vividly. So we knew from the beginning that having great live acts throughout the day would completely transform the atmosphere.
We chose Jon because his repertoire was so versatile and his performance videos sounded fantastic — we could instantly imagine him fitting in perfectly during the reception. And Billie’s voice is simply beautiful; the moment we heard her, we knew we wanted her to be part of the ceremony. Together, they brought such warmth and personality to the day and helped create moments that felt truly magical.
What were your favourite moments of the day?
There were so many unforgettable moments, but the ceremony stands out above everything else. Walking in with Billie singing was incredibly emotional — her voice filled the space and set the tone so perfectly. It’s a moment we’ll never forget.
Another highlight was the journey from the ceremony to the reception. Getting the buses with all our guests created this wonderful sense of togetherness and excitement — it felt like the celebration started the second we all stepped onboard.
At the reception, one of the standout moments was when Jon played Your Song and the entire room started singing along. It was spontaneous and heartfelt, and seeing everyone joining in together was something really special.
