The Yacht has a fabulous history and offers stunning views over the Thames, especially at night when the city lights reflect beautifully on the water. The venue alone creates an atmospheric backdrop for any event, and it gave our evening an extra touch of elegance and charm. It felt the perfect setting for bringing colleagues together for a fun and relaxed night, with plenty of space for socialising, dining, and dancing.

The band we chose completely delivered on the night. They filled the dancefloor from the very first song, played a wide variety of tracks to appeal to everyone, and brought incredible energy and stage presence throughout the evening. Their professionalism and enthusiasm really helped set the tone, ensuring everyone was in the mood to have a good time. By the end of the night, the atmosphere was electric, with colleagues of all ages singing along and joining in on the dancing.

There was no specific theme for the night other than to bring everyone together and provide a relaxed, enjoyable evening with excellent entertainment. Our goal was simply to create a space where colleagues could unwind, have fun, and share a few laughs outside of the workplace. To complement that, we wanted a band that could entertain a mixed crowd, appeal to different musical tastes, and, most importantly, get people on the dancefloor.

We began our search by looking online for function bands in London and came across Function Central. The website made the process extremely straightforward — it offered a good variety of bands, an intuitive category finder, and easy navigation. Being able to view detailed profiles for each band, see play lists, and listen to demo tracks was incredibly useful. It gave us confidence in making the right choice and made the selection process simple and stress-free.

After reviewing the demos and playlists, we chose Rockit, and they turned out to be a perfect fit for the night. They arrived early to set up, which was particularly helpful given the parking restrictions in the area. Despite playing late into the night, they remained friendly, relaxed, and completely professional. They checked with us throughout the evening about timings and song choices, ensuring their performance fit seamlessly into the schedule we had planned.

The band exceeded our expectations. They maintained high energy, kept the dancefloor full, and played a fantastic range of songs that kept everyone engaged. Watching our colleagues singing along and dancing together exactly as we had envisioned was incredibly satisfying — it really captured the fun, celebratory vibe we wanted for the night.

My advice to anyone planning a similar party is to organise as many of the small details as you can in advance, but don’t stress if things don’t go exactly to plan. Often, the small hiccups go unnoticed by your guests, and focusing on enjoying the evening makes the experience far more rewarding.

We received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback during and after the event. Guests repeatedly commented on how much they enjoyed the entertainment, the atmosphere, and the chance to let loose and have fun. Rockit were a perfect match for the party environment, and we would happily book them again in the future. Their talent, energy, and professionalism truly helped make the night memorable for everyone involved.
