Eastwind Oud is a captivating oud player and composer, blending the rich, earthy sounds of North African tradition with modern jazz, fusion, and a splash of bluesy flair. Often hailed as a “virtuoso,” he weaves old and new together, creating a contemporary North African fusion style that’s both hypnotic and full of surprises.

Over the years, he’s led projects alongside talented musicians such as Robyn Hemmings on upright bass and Samir Nacer on percussion, mixing everything from Gnawa and Chaabi to Andalusian grooves and jazz improvisation.

His compositions are celebrated for their atmosphere and breadth, and his oud solos have been likened to the electrifying energy of Anouar Brahem. Eastwind Oud has shared the stage with an eclectic mix of legends, from the Master Drummers of Africa and Natacha Atlas to Robert Plant, Transglobal Underground, Peter Ind, Hussam Al-Rassam, and Marc Almond. He’s also dipped his toes into the world of film, with composer credits on projects like Fanon hier, aujourd’hui (2019) and Kundara (2016). Always exploring, always surprising, Eastwind Oud is a musical force that bridges continents, styles, and generations with every pluck of the string.
