The Crossfades played indie rock, pop punk and old school rock 'n' roll at Layla's rustic wedding at The Tythe Barn in Bath, Somerset.

Where did your event take place?

Our wedding took place at The Tythe Barn just outside of Bath in Somerset. I grew up in Bath, so getting married in an area that holds so many memories was really important to me.

From the moment we stepped inside The Tythe Barn, Mark and I both knew it was the perfect venue. It has a rustic, historical charm, with a unique atmosphere that feels almost spiritual — church-like without actually being a church. The exposed beams, characterful stone walls, and serene surroundings made the space feel intimate, warm, and incredibly special. It was the perfect backdrop for our wedding day and created a magical setting for our celebrations.

Why did you book live music for the day?

Live music was always a must for us. There’s something truly magical and energetic that only a live band can bring to a wedding — it transforms the atmosphere and gets everyone on the dance floor.

While searching for a band, we came across The Crossfades and were instantly smitten. Their vibe, energy, and set list were exactly the kind of music we love: indie rock, pop punk, and old-school rock ‘n’ roll. From the very first video, we knew they were the only band we wanted. On the day, they were even better than we imagined — professional, talented, and full of energy.

The Crossfades were fantastic in every way. They are lovely guys, super professional, and incredibly skilled musicians. Even their live performance surpassed the already amazing videos we had seen online.

All of our guests commented that they were the best wedding band they’d ever seen, and we couldn’t agree more. The energy they brought to the room was electric — everyone was dancing, singing along, and having the best time. After their set, they even played a fantastic playlist to keep the party going. We truly cannot sing their praises enough.

Our absolute favourite moment was during the final song of The Beatles’ “Hey Jude.” A spontaneous dance circle formed in the middle of the room — everyone laughing, singing, and dancing together. It was such a fun, emotional, and perfect way to end an incredible set from the band. Moments like that are what made our day feel so special and unforgettable.

We found Function Central while searching for The Crossfades and they were such a fantastic resource. The agency made booking easy and stress-free, providing all the information we needed and helping us feel confident in our choice. Their team guided us through the process with professionalism and efficiency, and we’re so grateful for their support.

What advice would you give other brides and grooms?

Be true to yourselves and plan a day that reflects who you are as a couple, not what you feel you “should” do. Prioritise what’s important to you in your budget and don’t feel pressured to spend on things that aren’t meaningful — it makes sticking to your budget much easier. Most importantly, enjoy every moment and soak in the memories with your loved ones — the day goes by faster than you can imagine!
