5 Manchester Christmas Party Entertainment Ideas

Gone are the days when the office Christmas party meant cold sausage rolls around the photocopier. The annual Christmas shindig is a chance to thank staff, show off your moves (er…) and have a great time.

We’ve handpicked the very best Christmas bands based in Manchester and the North West to get your party started. Just don’t blame us if you have too much fun!

1. Rock & pop party bands

Fire up the dance-floor with stomping covers of new and classic hits from Agent Smith, our most popular guitar-based 4-piece rock and pop band.

If Motown is more your bag, why not try The Misfits, a nine-piece jazz group with an optional brass section to really bring the sparkle to your party?

For Christmas pop, Banzai excel at classics like Fairytale of New York as well as a vast repertoire of 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and noughties hits.

2. Vintage bands

For something different, vintage bands are increasingly popular in Manchester and the north. Why not book The Alley Cats, a super-cool speakeasy 3-piece playing tunes from Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Elvis Presley?

Or bring a soupçon of 1930s Paris to your event with pop hits played in a funky gypsy jazz style from The Resets or The Gypsy Jazz Experience?

For Christmas songs, try The Mustangs, a versatile, sassy 4-piece. Don’t be fooled by their retro stylings though, these guys are anything but conventional - their ‘disco-gypsy’ mash up is guaranteed to get your dancefloor shaking.

3. Soloists and duos

If space or budget are restricted, why not hire a soloist, like acoustic guitar vocalist like Joe, a stunning singer with a truly awesome repertoire? Or try super-talented Rachel S, who sings everything from Christmas carols to Mariah Carey classics.

Get the sound of a larger band by hiring a duo performing to playback. Skylight Duo are a superb dance-floor-filling act who’ll rock until the midnight hour. Or try silky smooth rock, pop, swing and Motown grooves, try Andrew James – a classy act specializing in Christmassy Rat Pack hits.

4. Jazz bands

Keep cold weather at bay with roof-raising jazz acts to get the mercury rising. The Highball Swingers evoke the days of Christmas past with toe-tapping tunes combined with Bing Crosby crooning.

5. DJs

Finally, if you’re short on budget, space or have a unique taste in music which none of our bands can replicate, why not hire a DJ?

Our DJs provide state of the art sound and lighting equipment as well as thousands of tunes for you to choose from.

Still not sure? Many of our bands come with a free DJ service and offer discounts in winter months, so send us an enquiry or call us on 0333 242 0560 for a free consultation.
