The band work exclusively with Function Central as one of their leading party bands in London and the South East, and are available in varying line-ups, from a 4-piece through to a 9-piece. The larger line-ups include keyboards (recommended for more authentic renditions of 80s synth-based music as well as contemporary pop and R&B) as well as brass (recommended for the band’s classic soul and funk repertoire).

A Girl Called Sue exceeded our expectations; they were prompt, organised and professional! Denise and Fabian, Wedding at the Belair House in Dulwich

A Girl Called Sue can also provide a 60-minute dinner jazz set for a fraction of the cost of hiring a separate jazz band. The jazz set is available to start anytime from 6pm on your event day, though the band can arrive earlier for a small extra charge.

The band can provide a manned laptop/iPad DJ service to keep the party going in between sets, as well as PA hire for speeches. They’re even happy to discuss learning bespoke songs for your event. “Fantastic, just what we expected as they also played at our wedding in 2013. A huge thank you to the band for helping to make the evening such a success.”

Jonathan, 40th birthday, The Mulberry Inn in Chiddingfold, August 2019

“A stressful moment when planning a wedding, how do you book a band without seeing them before? Luckily, Function Central has a great website with many wedding bands and their music within easy viewing for us. We listened to quite a few, and settled with A Girl Called Sue. We really didn’t know what we would be getting on the day, so it was quite a risk when all we wanted was a packed dance floor from 8.30pm! Luckily for us, we got that! The band were amazing – they had everyone up on the dance floor from the first dance to the last… uncles, aunties, nieces and best friends were all up there rocking their socks off!”

Ellie & Matt, Wedding, The Rectory Hotel in the Cotswolds, July 2019

“The best band I’ve seen in a while!”

Elaine, Wedding Photographer, Belair House in Dulwich, June 2019

“Great band and easy to arrange. Good value too.”

David, Wedding, Ramster Hall in Surrey, December 2018

“We wanted to thank the band very much indeed for the fabulous show they put on at our wedding on 15 December at Ramster Hall. Communication was great beforehand and then their arrival and set up was really discreet. Their rendition of 'Tennessee Whiskey' for our first dance was very special and the music afterwards fantastic. Our guests took a little while to warm up and then filled the dancefloor! Many of them commented on the band so I have passed on your name and hopefully they will book you as well. Thank you x”
