Guide to booking party bands in Hampshire

Why should I hire a Hampshire party band for my event?

Whatever occasion you are celebrating, music is the best way to make any event memorable, and Hampshire attracts great musicians from all over the world!

Our experts have tracked down the most talented and reliable party bands in Hampshire so that you don’t have to.

We have local bands in all styles, suitable for all budgets – and all of them are young enough to love what they do and experienced enough to know exactly what to play and when!

What style of music do your Hampshire party bands perform?

We can provide local party bands for every occasion, from anniversaries and Christmas parties, to birthdays and bar Mitzvahs.

Our Hampshire wedding bands will keep your guests dancing till dawn, typically playing a variety of classic, upbeat hits from every decade – soul, rock, pop, chart and dance and more.

Our band line-ups start with small, guitar-based outfits, usually consisting of 3 or 4 musicians and specialising in rock, pop and indie.

Our mid-sized line-ups, usually consisting of 5 to 9 members, include brass sections, keyboards and often the option of both male and female lead vocals. These typically specialise in pop, soul, Motown and dance music.

Finally, we have large showbands and jazz orchestras including up to 21 musicians!

Can you provide background musicians for hire in Hampshire?

For outdoor summer parties or background music at weddings, hire one of the best jazz musicians in Hampshire. They'll help break the ice at dinner, distract guests during photos or lighten the mood at your drinks reception, allowing guests to mingle and chat more freely.

Or if you need something engaging and fun for all the family, have a look at our ceilidh bands. They perform a variety of English, Irish and Scottish music – ideal for a knees-up in a barn!

Do you offer other musical genres, such as ceilidh or jazz bands in Hampshire?

If you’re looking for something more refined, our jazz bands in Hampshire cover a range of sub-genres including gypsy jazz bands, jazz trios, wedding jazz bands, background jazz bands.

All will play non-intrusive, sophisticated background music that your guests can talk over.

For the evening, consider hiring a swing band to get the party started.

Do we need to provide any equipment for the band?

Our Hampshire bands all come fully equipped for your event – it’s just worth getting in touch if you think your event will exceed 250 guests, as extra equipment might then be necessary. You just need to make sure that the band has a power source to plug in to and a space to perform!

We recommend a flat and sheltered stage area of at least 3x3 meters for a 3-piece band – then add an extra metre squared per band member that you have booked.

A raised stage is preferable for maximum impact but our bands are flexible to all kinds of set ups!

Where do your Hampshire party bands tend to perform?

Craig David? Foxes? Matt Cardle? Aqualung? Wildchild? Whatever your go-to musical choice, there is plenty of musical history and diversity to enjoy in the rich, royal heritage of Hampshire.

Our bands love to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or significant occasion at any venue across the varied landscape of Hampshire including Cain Manor, Botleys Mansion, Audley Woods Hotel, Tournerbury, Guildford Manor Hotel, The Potters Heron, Farnham Castle, Highfield Park and The Mill House Hotel.

Our bands are available across the county, performing in Southampton, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Eastleigh, Gosport, Farnborough, Aldershot, Horndean, Winchester, Havant, Fareham, Andover, Fleet, Totton, Hedge End, Stubbington, Hythe, New Milton, Emsworth, Alton, Romsey, and the Isle of Wight.

They will also travel UK wide and internationally.

How can we save money on our Hampshire band?

Take advantage of the band's acoustic or jazz sets in the afternoon, or their in-house DJ service later in the night. Since the musicians will be on site anyway, they can usually often these services at half the cost of booking an additional act.

If you’re planning an event, avoid the hassle and extra travel costs of booking a band from further afield by seeking out a local act.
